Entry level programs.

LEVEL 1

At Roanoke Chowan CWJC, we match each participant with a mentor in order to inspire and empower women through self-sufficiency. When women enter our program, they begin at Level I, which includes in-depth courses such as Bible study, technical skills classes and life skills classes, completely free of charge. Computer class.

Basic introduction to computers, and Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint instruction.

Budgeting class.

Learn how to create a budget, find opportunities for saving and ideas to help you stick with it.

Parenting class.

We offer 5-6 hours of parenting classes to address the needs of the class participants and ages of the children.

Resume + interviews.

Instruction on how to create an impressive resume and conduct a successful interview with interactive practice.

LEVEL 2

The relationships strengthen in Level 2 as mentors and teachers continue to invest in the participants and hone in on their individual goals. Classes in this portion of the program include Wellness, GED Assistance, Heart, Body, Mind and Soul, Starting a Business, Getting a Driver’s License, Life Skills classes and more.

Independent Living.

We meet women where they are. More often than not, these women are in the middle of a life change, and what they really need is a solid support system. That’s why we offer transitional housing for those who need help getting back on their feet. Space is limited – contact us to learn more!
